กระบอกไฮดรอลิก (Hydraulic cylinder)
อุปกรณ์ที่สำคัญอย่างยิ่งในระบบไฮดรอลิก ทำหน้าที่แปลงพลังงานของเหลว (โดยทั่วไปคือน้ำมันไฮดรอลิก) ให้เป็นพลังงานกลในการเคลื่อนที่ แบบเชิงเส้นหรือพูดง่ายๆก็คือการเปลี่ยนแรงดันของน้ำมันให้เป็นแรงดันในการผลักดันหรือดึงวัตถุต่างๆนั่นเอง
หลักการทำงานเบื้องต้นเมื่อมีแรงดันจากปั๊มไฮดรอลิกส่งน้ำมันเข้าไปในกระบอกสูบลูกสูบภายในจะเคลื่อนที่ไปมาทำให้เกิดการเคลื่อนไหวเชิงเส้น ของก้านสูบซึ่งก้านสูบนี้เองจะไปเชื่อมต่อกับชิ้นส่วนอื่นๆเพื่อสร้างการเคลื่อนไหวที่ต้องการเช่น การยกของ การดัน การดึง หรือการกด
